The Nakuru Chapter of the Hindu Council of Kenya (HCK) actively serves the community through impactful projects and initiatives that align with the organization’s mission of selfless service, environmental sustainability, and community upliftment.
Key Projects and Initiatives
Wheelchair Distribution and Support for Orphans
HCK Nakuru has provided continuous support to vulnerable populations by distributing wheelchairs to individuals in need and donating food and organizing play activities for orphans in local centers.
Eye and Vision Care Camps
In collaboration with organizations like the Lions Eye Hospital, the Nakuru Chapter has conducted free cataract and eye screening camps, offering free spectacles and surgical care to hundreds of individuals in need.
Feeding Programs
Through financial pledges by HCK members, the Nakuru Chapter provides meals to over 600 people from less privileged communities, ensuring food security and nutritional support.
Medical Camps and Healthcare Initiatives
HCK Nakuru has organized free medical camps in the KITI region, providing medicines to those in need. Additionally, blood donation camps have collected 60–100 pints of blood, and free prosthetic arms and legs have been distributed to amputees.
Tree Planting and Environmental Conservation
HCK Nakuru has played a significant role in environmental sustainability by planting over 5,000 trees across various locations, including Lenana, Menengai, Kimathi, and Mama Ngina Primary Schools, as part of Mazingira Day celebrations.
Community Clean-Up Drives
The chapter has organized successful clean-up exercises in the Kimathi area and Nakuru Town, promoting a cleaner, healthier environment for all residents.
Computer Distribution for IT Skills Development
To empower orphans and underserved communities, HCK Nakuru has distributed computers, enhancing IT skills and providing opportunities for a better future in a fast-changing digital world.
